Garden slow

Watermelon

chillis
My garden has slowly made it´s way through the soil.
Rising to present itself to the world. My garden stable, my patch, my plot, my plantation.
Quiet they grow, quiet and clean.
My slow afternoon parades them.
They need not my useless words, one leaf, my thanks.
As my hands give birth to this surface, this mattress.
An angel in the watering can, a wizard underground.
The only thing with life that doesn´t bring me down.
The sunrises for you, my garden is my faith and my faith keeps growing in it.

My herb garden, Minha horta de ervas

 My herb garden consists of...
Tomatoes, Rosemary, Two species of basil, Oregano, Mint, peter pepper.(a crazy chili with extreme flavour) And Sage.
Minha Horta de ervas consiste de...
Tomates, Alecrim, Dois especies de Manjericao, Oregano, Hortelã, Peter pepper.(uma pimenta louca com bastante sabor) E Salvia.
Apart from covering up the shitty paint job! Each plant has a good purpose, and I usually use the plants and vegetables I grow to their full potential.
I have planted three coriander(cilantro, coentro) plants which i´ve been using in everything from soups to stirfrys! They are almost dead now so i didn´t bother to take a pic.
It is one of the oldest herbs used in ancient egypt, and is renown for it´s many medicinal properties.
Rosemary(Alecrim) one of the most vigourous growers that grows anywhere is excellent in meat dishes, and is used in haircare products and treatment to prevent baldness! I use it so much there´s seldom new shoots take from the plant.
Basil(Manjericao) I use in all Italian pasta and some asian dishes with meat or vegetarian sauces. It helps everything from reducing the risks of kidney problems and aiding digestion.
Oregano I also use in Italian dishes and mexican. Another ancient herb used through out history and it´s name originates from Greece. It is one of the most powerful herbs in curing stomach problems.
Mint(Hortelã) is the most flavoursome herb in my opinion, in New zealand it is eaten with lamb(cordeiro).
I use it in everything for it´s sweetness and aroma, this little miracle of nature can cure bad breath literally! And reduces the risk of cancer!
Salvia is great with any kind of fish, however I use it in soups it has a mellow flavour and a great aroma. It is famous for treating night sweats and oversweating. And for women it solves problems associated with the menstrual cycle.
Tomatoes and chillis I use in everything, despite having low yields in my tomato cultivation, lets see maybe this year my gringo(green) thumb will work it´s magic! Tomatoes and chilis have anticancerous properties.
Natures medicine is vast and complex and if we study and use a fraction of this ancient wisdom we may improve our health and moods during our daily lives. Most have no side effects and are used in long term treatment as opposed to taking a pill for a week and then having to take another pill to reverse the consequences of taking the first pill. I put Nature first.
Be warned mixing herbal solutions with conventional medicine can be dangerous.

Some of those leaves.

REPLENISH
Half of this land is bare and with the seed and propagation, we should bring it all back until ths planet is green again.
Our existances will be synchronized with the creative powers of the earth. We will replenish the earth.
For no gain but the abundance and flourishing of our next generations, for the human race of tomorrow.
Deserts that we´ve created should now become the forests of the future.
Replenish these lands that have been abandoned, and improve these lands that are used.
Let us give our thanks through our offering to the natural earths existance.
NATURAL
Natural understandings of the world, areas of our parks where we can see how the natural world can exist next to ours. Natural respect an overall respect for all things natural. A refusal to cling to the commercial surface of the natural ideas and a will to delve into the real concept of preservation.
Natural values an insight into natural spirituality.
LOCATIONS
Places on the earth where we can take examples of what is natural and where and how we can incorporate different plants, trees and organisms to enhance our local environments evolving by acceptance of our surroundings not through replacing them with nonorganic amenities.
ENERGY
Finding a plant, tree or even corner in the local forest where you can create your own secret shrine, have not only contact, but share in the natural energy which only exists in things that are living.
Energy in natural foods and energy in practices that strengthen the bond between us and nature.
ABUNDANCE
When we look at the earth, although it looks like a platform for abundance we know that there is widespread lack, fighting with ourselves and fighting and competing with nature creating a life experience more violent and terrifying than it has to be. Nature can be poisoned but then so is the land from which we obtain our food. The forests can be cleared for pasture and so can the clouds for rain and our punishment will be deserts that yield neither food nor water. Abundance needs permission to give us paradise back. can we put abundance in our vision insted of personal short term gain. One does cancel the other.
NOBILITY
Farmers and loggers and agricultural workers who practise the moral and natural ways of farming etc can be given the title of nobility not by human standards but by natures standards and their contribution will eventually mean abundance and wealth for them, if their way of life is not destroyed by the conventional corporate scum organisations born to burn our world for money. Poverty is pollution. Wealth is clean and green!
RESSURECTION
We know that through spirituality nature is one fundamental part. A concept, a random design in the form of animals and plantlife that is our irrefutable connection with our true god whatever god be to us.
To recreate our world would be a spiritual procedure guaranteed to promote respect for god and spirituality.
Those that believe love of nature is witchcraft are potentially dangerous and should be challenged at every attempt. The ressurection of a natural world, is the ressurection of a righteous one.
APOCALYPSE
Sadly if we are unable to live our lives in harmony with nature and respect all natural habitats etc, the end of the human race as a civilization is at hand. Populations rise and the quantity of people in third world countries matched with the industry makes us more like idiotic animals unwilling to change ourselves for the survival of our existance. And this will be punished, churches still preaching for us to have as many children as possible, industries that pollute and sponser devastation! If we don´t face up to these evil organisations, if we just sit down and let the workaholic -pollution -overpopulation minds win. we will betray ourselves and our children.
Green revolution means targeting the true polluters and not just those employees wearing the gas masks but those c.e.o´s behind the desks that push buttons and create hell on earth.

A natural airconditioner

Isn´t it strange people say we should save the planet? That the planet will die off and humans will be left somehow stranded. I think the more accurate discription is- we will die off.
Like the defenders of international industrial corporations always say: There has been hundreds of cataclysms in earth´s history wiping out large areas of earth and bringing on ice ages. They say "So what harm can polluting the earth do? It´s just the easiest way to produce stuff and we don´t care about hippy stuff."
That is true, though how do you think your children would handle a cataclysm? But the fact is none of the biggest cataclysms ever occured when humans were inhabiting the earth. The last greatest one was supposedly the one that wiped out the dinosaurs.
Not smart animals, with brains the size of peanuts, but it took a meteor to wipe them out.
Now we, with the big brains are polluting our cities and water ways until alot of countries have to actually wear gas masks and purchase water. It seems like we are self destructing ourselves for the purpose of having some line of credit for each country balanced. I admit making money takes priority it is the purpose of living and never before has there been so much contradiction between one´s Job, transport and lifestyle compared with environmental ethics of today. So how can they be merged?
Forests are so important for every continent, in fact for just one city they can provide a natural airconditioner.
Why would we want to destroy such a useful system?
In cities like Hong kong and Sao paulo for example having forests can guarantee cooler temperatures in the summer and warmer temperatures in the winter catering to our needs perfectly.
What kind of people refuse to consider the advantages of having a forest near to great metropoles where the air is the dirtiest and the regions climate is directly affected by the excess of fumes and carbon pollutants?
To top it off what better place to spend leisure time? A clean river(relatively speaking), some parks and tracks.
In big cities young children are being subjected to more and more pollution, allergies are more common. Among other inbalances like lack of fresh air, in general a weaker more suceptible generation of children are being raised. So are we already sacrificing the new generation to our same laziness and cowardice!
When does the buck stop? Certainly not in the third world and the developed world fights for every right to continue to poison. Europe´s natural forests are almost non existant. With the rate that America rid itself of it´s natural forests they hardly have the right to impose logging sanctions on the third world.
Though it´s up to the third world to consider it. Industry comes first so until the developed world changes it´s expectations for consumption and modes of production there will be no change.
The planet will not directly die because of our lack of care and overexploitation. We will die!
When it is a question of harming the next generations health and security is it wise to continue polluting on the level we do? Is it wise to be logging the amount of native timbers we do? Let´s stop using the words "man made devatation" it´s not some man but all of us. And start taking some responsibility for our local environment.
Support world wide ways to improve the environment. Don´t buy the cheap arguements from short sighted politicians telling you that it´s all a hoax. Volcanos swamps and cow farts do pollute aswell, that´s no excuse to give up and say "Well nature naturally pollutes let´s not worry" and "We are part of nature" Yes we are a part but also seperate for human nature now dominates the earth. Nature has been polluting because thats how it balances itself.

Natures purpose

Organic farming is the use of herbicides, pesticides and fertilizers and methods of agriculture, which make use of the land without doing longterm damage to the environment or human beings.
The natural pesticides can vary from biological pesticides to repellants and sprays harmless to humans.
The biological pesticide is an insect, fungus or bacteria which attacks the pest which is affecting our crops.
The insect, fungus or bacteria is grown or bred, either on the farm or bought from a supplier. It is applied to areas of the crops that have been affected by pests. As long as the predatory insect bacteria or fungus doesn´t affect the local ecosystem it can prevent outbreaks of pests by controlling their numbers.
Pesticide sprays and repellents that are nontoxic are usually not as effective in the short term as toxic pesticides. However after toxic pesticides kill off large numbers of pests they either destroy the species in that region drastically affecting the local ecosystems. Or the pest can build a resistance which quite often happens overtime for the most common pests.
Now when a pest adapts to a toxic pesticide the company repsonsible for selling such products must increase the toxicity of the pesticide and therefore poison the local environment even more potently than before. Not very good for local forests or WATERWAYS.
Not very good for our stomachs or the farm workers! But the producers sell the pesticide for a higher premium after each such step is taken. making a better profit as each fix gets more potent just like drugs.
Boring, boring and boring right?
Toxic pesticides are engineered to kill living things, based on a chemical compound or hormone that is equally dangerous to humans if given the equivalent dose.
What we notice with many things that are done too quickly in this world is that a fast fix usually has consequences. From speeding in your car to living a life of fastfood there is always a side effect you don´t want later. What about doing it the right way from the start is that not more intelligent?
Toxic pesticides are a fast fix with alot of consequences, this is not a dedicated approach to contemporary agriculture.
The majority of fruit and vegetables for human consumption are still treated with toxic pesticide and herbicide. A small percentage of those poisons are consumed by us.
Organic farming is not just a compliment to nature but also a way to appreciate our food without worrying too much what kind of chemicals and hormones there are in it and how that could affect us over the long term.
The problem is apart from a coordinated green advertising campaign there has been no big revolution to assimilate big farms, orchards and plantations into total organic farming methodology.
So the few farms that do go organic usually produce less and charge a lot more for what they produce!
This is not because of a lack of space or know how, there is little competition in the organic farming industry and so there is no pressure for the price to come down! In some places organic fruit and vegetables end up costing double! And only the people with the money or strong concern will pay for that kind of food!
What needs to happen is an international incentives scheme for those farms that have gone organic. A move to prohibit pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers that cause harm to ecosystems, waterways, the quality of the soil all the way to our own digestive system!
So if these concerns aren´t enough reason to implement organic farming definitively, take a look at what hormonal pesticides and herbicides can do to the body over time. Humans are still organic creatures we are not made of metal yet. Even though some of us are made of plastic. So we should be aware of the things we eat and drink.
Maybe the reason why little has changed is that people sometimes forget about their own health.

Mother nature in the modern day.

Mother nature in the modern day.
With global warming and clean water issues coming to ahead these days in the world.
Maybe people could reserve alittle good faith in nature!
Pollution of industry and pollution from transport. Fuel and it´s extraction and refining.
Along with materials and products that create cfc´s.
These are all part of the disease that is eating the planet. Still mother nature goes little mentioned. The clean green image is a novelty, a fad or a phase. however this can´t be the attitude of the world current citizens.
Doing the bare minimum now will still cost the next generation alot of their earthly freedoms.
Clean air and of course water are now real issues. Do we want companies to sell us bottled water when we used to drink water from the tap for free. has it become trendy to pay for stuff that we used to have for free?
Do we want technology to replace each natural component of our existance on earth, so we can live in some giant department building of artificial light? We may aswell live underground if we intend to destroy the ozone layer.
It seems laughing it off as some green fashion craze is already the response of young people working stressful jobs in companies with no environmental conscience.
A busy person these days who has no time or interest to think about green concepts.
Overworked with little sleep and a convenient junkfood diet. Still half asleep as he arrives at work and not much better when he arrives home. Only microwave meals and fastfood chains can facilitate such a lifestyle. Until today companies associated with such things lack environmental consideration more than other parts of the worlds market industries. To top it off these people who are usually overworked and lack sleep, also drink in excess during the weekend. So what if i eat junkfood? So what if i drink in excess?
Someone with a lack of sleep, a hangover and interest in things that pollute the earth or body can hardly be expected to have a conscience of any kind about anything. They make the perfect drone for management of companies that pollute. They would argue against logic, against their own health to endorse alcohol for leisure, sports cars pumping out exhaust fumes for status and a conventional way of life shunning a renewable lifestyle. Overworked people can easily live without questioning the impact of their actions.
A humble council worker picking up rubbish at a local park or along a street side is met with the laughter of the company worker his empty packet or screwed up panflet shouting "Get a real job idiot!" How ironic is that?
In a short time that man working for a car company or machine assembling plant will be replaced by a machine but for now he thinks his labour is the purest and the most valuable. No wonder he sees the green revolution as a dream he can´t even see himself being made redundant in five years by a multifunctional steel framed arm.
Look ahead, look ahead people don´t realise that sooner or later obligation to renewable ways of life, recycling and clean fuels and energies wont be guidelines forever but concrete reality and written law.
The other blindess is to think that technology can save us from natural disasters. It is funny to think of.
Technology can´t even replace mother nature as a renewable source of life. Why are countries spending so much in rivaling or repressing mother nature! A few organic farms, solar panels and wind turbines will hardly make a big difference at the level of sophistication they are at now.
Forests need to be replanted to guarantee oxygen and opportunities for future generations to study and explore the realms of biology within nature. All agriculture should be compatible with local and regional ecosystems. Forestry programs should include longterm use of the same land.
Japan didn´t have adequate technology to protect itself from the natural disasters it has been through. Japan is one of the few countires in the world that should have the right technology to be capable of such a feat. But alas no such technology exists! When a earthquake wrecks a city theres no protection, when a tsunami hits everyone dies. 20,000 people died and now nuclear power is no longer a viable source of energy because of the environmental risk it poses. Wow nature had the power to forcefully stop the use of nuclear power in Japan. Maybe it is intelligent afterall.
gas masks have to be worn in china because the quality of the environment was of no concern to the inhabitants or government.
Could it be that if we don´t start trying to work with nature insted of against her we could be worsening the instability of the climate?

Natural path/natural belief

Belief in god as a father of mankind. Humanity as a manifestation of god maybe?
As jesus was the symbol of god in human form in christianity.
What about the belief in god as a mother and a creator?
Forests animals and all that is alive as a manifestation of mother nature.
Many questions come to mind no doubt and for those to whom the concept is foreign...
You may ask "Why would you make nature the feminine form of god, when nature is so unjust"?
There I reply
"How violent is mother nature even with it´s storms and earthquakes, deadly animals etc when compared to MANKIND"?
Is nature as brutal, violent and unjust as mankind? Nukes, napalm bombs, scud missiles, torture, genocide.
Do you really think so... do you?
Therefore we can see even more clearly that perhaps nature is a kind of manifestation of god not so destructive like man, but as much a miracle as mankind!
Conveniently nature is so called "Mother nature," for this reason exactly.
Nature is fairer despite our perceptions of it being grotesque and merciless.
It is far less cruel than the destructive energies in human beings.
The arguement continues that the destruction of the world at the hand of man is not a manifestation of god but of man himself.(in his natural erroneous state)
Hard to say! We know Jesus brought a message, a possible way of life that involved peace and forgiveness thus avoiding a life of destruction and destroying!
This way of life would save us, as living a life without so much destruction can save you.
Real life or in better words love and creation.
And what is mother nature? could it be summed up as love and creation?
Should the idea of god be purely masculine? Jews, christians and muslems all believe god is a man!
Male in energy and male in vibration, male in the symbols used to represent the religion!
Why didn´t they make god neutral isn´t that what a fair god would be. Or is it infact both genders?
Mother nature which is being denied by the masses with the exception of wicca and mysticism.
Believers in natural spirituality have been burned at the stake or drowned in the past.
Nowadays people with these beliefs are hardly taken seriously. Labels like "hippy" come to mind.
However it doesn´t address the question of god as a father seeming half empty without the concept of mother nature as the female counterpart, which seems to fit so well.
They would make one god however it wouldn´t be a question of dividing the ideal of god, rather Part of the energy is shared in things pertaining to life on earth( e.g mother nature) and the other part to human existance(e.g christ). Not mother nature as a seperate entity but as a genuine part of god!
Buddha and Jesus both made references to nature not seperating nature from god. And rightly so.
However in the modern christian mind like the medievil one, the world of things wild is seen as wild and out of control as if it didn´t have a natural plan and needs taming and cutting back.
To the point people don´t belive the wild to be important! Or even really necessary! Take movies of talking animals that resemble spoilt rich kids for example they go straight to the box office every time.
But we still don´t know how to substitute algae, plankton and the plant life that gives us oxygen.
And the oxygen we do breathe we pay no mind to it. There is truly little concession for nature no wonder it hits us with floods and hurricanes sometimes. We deem nature to be brutal and non intelligent when maybe the contrary could be said.
Some people think of nature as a lion devouring a gazelle, or a spider catching a fly and the imagery horrifies them. Surely the fight to survive must be more noble than the war against a different race of people? Or the war against communism? Or the war for oil in the middle east. When we can say those wars were completely necessary we can almost justify our disgust for spiders and predatory feline!
An earthquake may kill thousands but not quite as many as a nuke can if it lands in a built up city. If the blast doesn´t kill you the next six years of radiation will.
Starting to get the point? The human race is more diabolical than nature could ever be!
So the reasons we had for denying nature in the past no longer count these days. Celebrating nature is not an offence they can burn you to death for anymore.
Yet the vanguard toward healing the earth where necessary and finding a balance is very small, between greenpeace and the wildlife federation there´s not really enough.
Maybe the main reason governments and conglomerate corporation boards sentence the world to a slow death. Is one: That economic stability now comes mainly from nonrenewable and destructive industrial and agricultural endeavours. And two: whomsoever withdrawls from these crimes against nature could lose their fortune just for some other unscrupulous company owner to pickup where he left off.
In the past it was witch hunting as man associated himself as if he were directly with god. Woman couldn´t vote let alone share their political opinion. To make matters worse woman were incharge of taking care of their children with limited resources before penicilin! And when they went out to pick some wild herbs for a tea or an ointment they could as soon be called a witch and burn for it. Connections with nature were prohibited by the church clergy no doubt. Nature indicated a bond between the woman as a giver of life and the forest as a giver of life. A connection that lives on in wicca.
This connection scared the shit out of the church and so much so they were willing to go into drastic actions to burn those woman at the stake.
Even nowadays we call ourselves civilized but the majority of people wouldn´t regard what happened in the past as crime against humanity. As if real satanic witches ever existed in such a number to practise burnings once a month or more?
Most people just think of it as a product of that era. Fear of the light is as strong as fear of the dark!
